Rewilding Through Boxing
Boxing has been an essential part of Vanessa’s healing & personal rewilding practice. She began training as a pro fighter in 2002 and coached boxers of all levels (often integrating meditation & herbalism) in NYC for over 15 years. She now offers limited small group and one-on-one sessions in Western Massachusetts with occasional workshops in NYC & Cambridge. Contact Vanessa to inquire. Group boxing training is an optional part of most retreats.

Online Plant Walk, March 30th
Online walks focus on edible and medicinal plants and fungi found in the Northeastern United States and throughout temperate regions of the world. You’re invited to rethink so-called weeds like dandelion, burdock, mugwort, and nettles while exploring safe and ethical wildcrafting. Train your attention to detail and discover how heightened awareness of local land can bring you into deepened relationships with your body and with Earth.
Enchanted Pedagogies Anthology: Book Launch and Reading

Wheel of The Year, October 2023
This 5-session course explores what is happening on the land, within the soil, in the skies, and in our bodies as the seasons turn. The Wheel of The Year reminds us that time is cyclical, not linear, and that we are an expression of nature, woven into the wild web of life. Writing Retreat, Fall 2022
This intimate time and space provides solidarity, support, inspiration and feedback for committed writers with projects underway. The historic setting of Antigua at the base of the Fuego y Agua volcanoes provides ample creative inspiration. Not only is Guatemala brimming with tradition and culture, but the country is also rich in literature. The origins of Guatemalan literature can be traced back to The Popol Vuh a sacred narrative of the Kʼicheʼ people that includes the Mayan creation myth. The name "Popol Vuh" translates as "Book of the People."
Wolves & Wild Medicine, Summer 2022
The Wolf Conservation Center, August 26th, 2022

This multi-sensory workshop led by author, herbalist, and Sacred Warrior founder, Vanessa Chakour, will explore relationship with land through the lens of wild edible and medicinal plants growing at the Wolf Conservation Center.
Experience a plant walk, tips and tools for plant identification, and learn how to make your own herbal infusions and tinctures.
You also meet the WCC’s ambassador wolves and learn about the role of wolves as a keystone species, while discussing current recovery challenges and what .you can do to help. Bring a mug for herbal tea, a journal for notes, and leave awakened to the magic and medicine under your feet.
